Root Canal Therapy Randolph, NJ

In-office root canal therapy

Various oral health problems can eventually cause you to lose a tooth. One problem that often leads to tooth loss is an infection due to large decay or a cracked tooth. You can develop an infection of the pulp (nerve tissue) inside of your tooth or at the base of the tooth root, and this infection can cause greater problems over time – and the first sign is usually toothache pain.

Root canal therapy is performed when a patient has this type of toothache and the nerve is dying. Instead of taking out the tooth, this procedure is used to save the tooth and keep it for many years to come. With Dr. Armento’s extensive training in the root canal procedure, he is able to perform root canal therapy in usually one visit. He can also perform the procedure in his state-of-the-art office so that the patient does not have to be referred to an endodontist, and without the fees associated with seeing a specialist.

Done in one visit

In the past, root canal therapy was done with hand files – an outdated root canal procedure that took much longer and had a greater chance of failure due to inadequate cleaning of the nerve canals. Today, Dr. Armento uses the most advanced rotary endodontic files by Tulsa Dental to clean the canals thoroughly and quickly, enabling most endodontic procedures to be done in one visit. The rotary files attach to a motorized handpiece and allow for a more compete cleaning of the canals and less postoperative pain or sensitivity.
Dr. Armento also uses a digital apex locater to determine the exact length of the canals, thereby needing fewer X-rays to confirm this, as was done in the past. And because Dr. Armento also uses digital X-rays, the radiation exposure is less than half as much as it used to be.

Restorative Dentistry Randolph, NJ

So many ways to restore the function of your smile

Do you have a cracked tooth, broken teeth, tooth pain or discomfort? Are you having difficulty chewing? Do you have persistent bad breath? These are all signs pointing to the need for a restorative dentist. Restorative dentistry is all about restoring your oral health. Dr. Armento, a restorative dentist in Randolph, NJ, has restored dental health for thousands of people of all ages using a variety of treatments and procedures.

Dental implants

Dr. Armento’s implant dentistry training and experience means he can replace lost or missing teeth with state-of-the-art dental implants that look, feel and function just like your own natural teeth. Each dental implant uses a titanium post to permanently anchor the new “tooth” to your jawbone. A dental crown is then placed at the gumline to complete the dental implant.

Porcelain crowns & bridges

Dental crowns are used to repair damaged and broken teeth that are still otherwise healthy. The crown fits over the original tooth to provide protection and stability. Dr. Armento often uses a dental bridge to fill the gap created by a single missing tooth. A typical three-part dental bridge consists of two dental crowns attached to a false tooth called a pontic.

Valplast® partial dentures

These state-of-the-art flexible partials are metal-free and designed to fit better, function better and feel more natural than typical partials.

Implant Dentistry Randolph, NJ

The preferred way to replace missing teeth

Have you lost one or more of your teeth? Are you having difficulty chewing? Are you tired of your dentures or partial? Would you like a permanent replacement that looks, feels and functions like your natural teeth?
Implant DentistryIf you answered “Yes” to any of those questions, you should consider dental implants. Unlike a bridge or a partial denture that is anchored to adjacent teeth, a dental implant is a titanium “root” inserted into the jawbone to anchor the new tooth. The actual tooth part of the implant is a dental crown called a restoration. The dental crown is secured to the titanium root using a special connector called an abutment.

Nothing is closer to your natural teeth than dental implants

Once in place and fully healed (usually three to six months after implant placement), dental implants and restorations look, feel and function just like your own natural teeth. Many patients who have had experience with both dentures and dental implants say they much prefer implants for replacing their missing teeth. By avoiding the need to cut down adjacent teeth for conventional bridgework, dental implants offer the added advantage of replacing teeth without harming adjacent teeth.

If you are missing one or more teeth, consider dental implants. Dr. Armento has helped many of your Randolph, NJ neighbors to smile and eat with confidence again. He can help you, too. Our implant dentistry patients also come to us from Denville, Rockaway, Mendham and Dover.
